What Is the 8th CPC?
The 8th Central Pay Commission (8th CPC) refers to the next expected revision of pay, pensions, and allowances for India's central government employees, following the pattern set by the 6th and 7th Pay Commissions. Like its predecessors, it is expected to apply a fitment factor to convert existing (7th CPC) basic pay into a new revised basic pay.
Because the commission's terms of reference, fitment factor, and effective date have not been officially finalized, this calculator treats the fitment factor as an adjustable input rather than a fixed constant — letting you model your own expected outcome rather than presenting one number as fact.
Projected 8th CPC Salary Formula
The same fitment-factor method used in the 7th CPC is applied here, with a fitment factor you can adjust to model different scenarios.
Projected Basic Pay = Current 7th CPC Basic Pay × Fitment Factor
Worked Example
An employee with a current 7th CPC basic pay of ₹46,260, modeled with an assumed fitment factor of 1.92.
Projected Basic Pay = ₹46,260 × 1.92 = ₹88,819 (projection only)
Projected gross salary adds DA and HRA as a percentage of projected basic pay, plus transport allowance, mirroring the 7th CPC structure used on the 7th CPC calculator:
Gross Salary = Projected Basic Pay + DA + HRA + TA
8th CPC Calculator FAQ
Has the 8th Pay Commission been implemented yet?
Not officially finalized at the time of writing — the fitment factor and implementation date for the 8th CPC have not been notified by the government. This calculator lets you plug in your own assumed fitment factor to see what your salary could look like once terms are finalized.
What fitment factor should I use for the 8th CPC?
Since no official figure exists yet, this calculator defaults to a commonly discussed estimate, but you can change it to any value you'd like to model. Treat any 8th CPC fitment factor you see online as speculative until the government officially notifies it.
How do I calculate my projected 8th CPC salary?
Enter your current 7th CPC basic pay and an assumed fitment factor — the calculator multiplies them to estimate a projected revised basic pay, then adds DA, HRA, and transport allowance to estimate gross salary.
When is the 8th Pay Commission expected?
Pay commissions have historically been constituted roughly every ten years, with the 7th CPC implemented from January 2016. Official timing and terms for the 8th CPC are set by government notification, so check official sources for the latest confirmed status.
